The sea once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever’

Jacques Cousteau

Ever since watching Jacques Cousteau on the BBC as a young girl, I have been fascinated by the living world under the water. The colourful corals and fishes and other aquatic mammals always awakened a deep space in my heart.

With the money that I have collected from selling the spruce hydrosol for helping those with long covid, I have purchased coral plugs that will be studied for their adaptation to new warmer ocean situations. Their ability to thrive in new conditions will help to regenerate the coral reefs of our seas.

Thank you everyone for your support and I am so happy that forests of the land was able to help the forests of the sea!

Over 50% of our reefs have died and unless we find ways to regenerate them the remainder will suffer the same fate. 25% of all marine life lives on a reef and this ecosystem is essential to maintain the continued growth and sustainability of all oceans. Reefs also provide costal protection, support local communities and are also being investigated for use as medicines.

We know that the increasing sea temperature, acid rain and soil which flows into the oceans causes bleaching and death to the coral.  Enabling regeneration of coral which can thrive during these changes will start to reverse this loss in our oceans. Coralvita has found ways to speed up regrowth of this resilient coral by 50%.

I dream that future generation of children will also be able to see the magical wonder of life in the ocean that have entranced me.
