Did you know that, according to the Q’ero tradition, we are born with four parents? Alongside our biological mother and father, we also have two Nature parents.

Our Nature parents are here to guide us, nurture us, and reveal our unique strengths and gifts. The Nature mother, representing feminine power, is the closest body of water near the exact place of our birth, known as our Paqarina. This could be a lake, river, stream, or even the ocean. The Nature father, symbolizing masculine power, is the nearest mountain, hill, or cliff, referred to as our Itu Apu.

In the modern world, especially in the West, many of us have lost this sacred connection with our Nature parents. Along with it, we’ve often lost a sense of belonging and identity. The Inka prophesied that this era would be the time of the Pachacuti—a time of transformation when the Earth would once again be heard. To guide this renewal of humanity, we must redefine our relationship with ourselves, others, and the natural world. Personally, I have found that seeking help from my Nature parents has strengthened this connection and guided me to rediscover the unique gifts I bring into the world.

Nature parents provide us with living energies, profound feelings, and powerful insights. Over time, as we embody these energies, we grow stronger, empowering our energy bubbles. We can share these gifts with others, fostering a deeper connection with people, places, and the universe. By honouring our Nature parents, we honour our ancestors, nature guardians, and all of creation.

The River Bec in Beckenham, Kent supplying the lake at Kelsey Park before disappearing underground. The river re-emerges as the River Chaffinch and River Ravensbourne before flowing into the Thames and finally the ocean. The Thames being tidal flowing in and out everyday adds another dimension.

Returning to Wholeness

The union of feminine and masculine powers is guided by the Nust’as, forces of creation that are visualized as the merging of golden and silver threads. This is usually the work of the women in the community for they have this creative force within. This sacred union represents balance and harmony in our lives and is a wonderful gift to share during these times of unrest and seperation.

For deeper guidance, I highly recommend Elizabeth Jenkins’ book, The Fourth Level. It offers profound insights into these teachings.

Once you’ve taken time to discover and commune with your Nature parents, it may be helpful to confirm them through a coca leaf reading.
