Description
This plant is also known as the yellow root and poor man’s saffron and yet it has amazing health benefits. The word ‘turmeric’ derives from the Latin word terra merita meaning meritorious earth. It is a member of the ginger family, and the rhizomes are harvested once a year in Hawaii in the autumn and the root dried. Only a small piece is needed to be planted for many little buds, (swollen pieces of the stem) to sprout and grow horizontally. It likes to be planted in full sun and enjoys water but not to become water logged. The white flowers appear in early autumn and last for only a few weeks before they die along with the leaves. It is then time to harvest. Turmeric works symbiotically with our microbiome to increase the number of beneficial bacteria and can strengthen the integrity of our gut lining. Turmeric works with the earth element uniting our spirit with Pachamama once again.
The vibration of the essence is preserved in filtered water and vodka at 8.4% alcohol.
